Have you got an email address? A cell phone? No! Who are you kidding? If you got an email address and a cell phone you may want to check out jott.com. With it you can call a toll free number, leave a message, and have the text of the message show up in your Inbox.
Here's how it works:
- Sign up for the service (the usual login, password, etc.). It's free (at least for now).
- Program one of the speed dial buttons on your cell phone with their toll free number (I use the "J" button).
- Whenever you need to empty your head (driving, walking, etc.), call the number.
- When you hear the "Who do you want to jott?" prompt, answer "me".
- It converts your message to text and sends it to your email address (including a link to the audio of the message).
You can set up multiple delivery addresses. I've got one for home, one for work, one for my mom and one for my wife.
So when I'm driving down the road and think of something I need to tell my wife, I jott.
It's a tool that I use every day to empty my mind.
